Alis Volat Propiis

The last two months have been some of the awesomest (that’s word now) of I’ve had since moving here. My brother Lyle arrived here at the beginning of June in order to get his career rolling in the field of climate change and environmental impacts. Now, at the first of August, he’s already moving out; having found an excellent job here in the City and now a great place in North Beach to call home. My giant bedroom won’t be the same with out him.

We’ve been able to have mad awesome barbecues since he’s come here, late nights playing pool across the street, and morning coffees at 901 Cafe that lasted ages longer than predicted. The thing is, I had so much fun having him here with us. Beyond that, to be with a guy while he’s making the steep ascent into what he’s meant to become in life is…well, inspiring. To see that sort of rare thing happen in someone you love so much is the precious beauty of being alive. It’s exciting, exhilarating and unforgettable.

On the one hand, I’m going to miss my brother when he’s gone, but he’s not really gone. Lyle got a place here in North Beach only four short blocks away, so I’m sure he’ll be around all too often. Scha-weet! Many more BBQ’s and late night dollar-fifty drafts in store. We’re already planning another beach weekend in September, with the intention that he’ll come along. Now, if he can just find a date for it. ;)

July Fourth Rooftop Party

My Bro and I Deep Into Our July Fourth Rooftop Party

Santa Cruz Recap

You know what’s better than staying at a sweet pad with a bunch of great friends by a gorgeous beach? Doing for three days straight.

I knew it was going to be a sweet weekend by the fact that as soon as my car arrived at the beach house, we were ushered upstairs where George and Amy and Jose and Mars were already in the hottub on the roof deck. Stella Artois were strewn about the deck space and the wonderfully relaxing weekend was in sesh.

We wound up spending plenty of time at the beach playing ultimate frisbee and taking in the sun, time in Capitola eating brunch, having a FANTASTIC bbq in the back yard, and playing late night Clue with freshly mixed mudslides. Massively good times. We also tore up the Mystery Spot and the Santa Cruz Boardwalk on the way back. Those two places could be blog entries of their own, however. (What?! Dippin’ Dots is Ice cream from the FUTURE?!?)

Here are some mad pics from the SC weekend:

Santa Cruz Bound, Among Other Things…

Holla!!!!! So, I just talked to my fellow roomie, who along with George, Mars and Amy have made it safely to the lil’ town of Aptos. Apparently I did a fabulous job, no surprise, of choosing a house. They are out on the town and drinking the vino. Woo!

As for myself, Joy (who is taking the cable car over, hilarious), Chris and Cody; will all be squeezing in the ironically named Infinity. Well, now. We will see how infinite space shall truly be. 2 hours of highway bliss… straight out of the city baby. Oh wait… isn’t critical mass tonight? This could be tricky.

Well, that’s all for now kiddies. Besides practically wasting my day packing, baking brownies and lounging around, I have nothing else to say.

I did happen to see a car made completely of legos. At least the outer shell of the Tercel looking car…

Peace!

;)

Prep. Mad CRZY.

So, sounds like we’re all off to Santa Cruz for the weekend. I’m stoked to have mad crazy times by the beach with not only the 806′ers but also all the other awesome people coming to party with us. 160 bones a piece gets us a house by the beach, shared 8 ways.

I was originally planning on buying a new camera for the trip, but there was no way in hell I had time this week. Work has been stupid crazy, and I had one night where I got out of the office before midnight. And that includes Sunday.

SF LIFE! Wooo!
